Our executive board consists of 3 caucuses, each with their unique role to ensure the coalition achieves its goals. The executive board rarely convenes, but will do so to decide budget allocation and large decisions about structural modification or controversial proposals.

  • The logistical caucus governs the day-to-day actions of the coalition as an organization. Most of the operations of the coalition are governed by the logistical caucus. The caucus currently comprises 11 chairs, each with their own attached goals and responsibilities according to one of the following:

    1. Longevity

    2. DEI

    3. Relations

    4. Communications

    5. Community

    6. Projects

    7. Treasury

    Through the chairs’ work, the coalition grows and maintains its constituent audience, figuring out how to set and achieve goals that members are interested in.

  • In acknowledging that historically marginalized voices have felt neglected and shunned from the Harvard Climate Community, we have created structural power for frontline voices to steer the coalition in a more diverse, equitable, and inclusive direction. The DEI caucus contains chairs that sit on the logistical caucus, where they ensure that logistical chairs are paying careful attention to DEI in their work.

    As the DEI caucus is continuously built out, we will update this page with more information on the mission and structure of the DEI caucus.

  • Surely enough, the groups caucus contains representatives from each of the Coalition’s member groups. The groups caucus convenes to discuss joint action, relay feedback from their members, and build the community of Harvard climate champions across the College.

    The groups caucus was created to enfranchise member groups with executive power in the coalition. Not only do groups have final say in admitting new groups, funding, and co-sponsorship, but they also can push the logistical chairs to do work favored by their group’s membership.
